The iTheater Project was founded on January 12, 2005 by Ed Wolf and Greg Jurman. The goal of the project is to create an application that acts as a media center for any Macintosh computer...a la Front Row. iTheater is an aesthetically pleasing way to manage, play and share your photos, movies and music. Thanks to many dedicated developers and organizations, the iTheater Project is able to deliver FREE, open source software.

On June 10, iTheater 0.1.2a (alpha 1) was made available for download on the developer's new site.
