With high resolution digital cameras reaching consumer prices, there's never been a better time to be a photographer. This week's links and tools will help you improve your technique and digital workflow - having fun along the way.

Free Lessons

Before we mess with your pictures, we want to make sure they don't stink. The above link (via LifeHacker) will guide you to a fine series of professional photography lessons. Unless you have an SLR, some of the tips will be out of reach (like the depth of field stuff) but there are plenty of pointers we can all use.

Geotagger

Drag and drop meets your pictures and Google Earth. Now its easy to add coordinates to any vacation pic. Why? Sites like Flickr can use this data. Now you've been somewhere.

QuickEffect

We know our Macs are full of eye-popping visual effects. With this free utility you can apply CoreImage effects to your pictures. Works on 10.3.9+.

Snipshot.com

Crop, resize, rotate and apply image filters to your photos online, for free and without signing up for anything. Snipshot is fast, easy and can even conquer PDF, EPS and SVG files.

Very handy for working on your images in an internet cafe in Mongolia.

huggin

This Open Source project has built a cross-platform panorama creator. Stitch together your photos into a panorama with this free editor.

Rawker

This last pick is a handy batch converter that will turn your RAW image files into high quality TIFF files that are image editor friendly. You can also adjust things like color profile and rotation.

Click! That's a keeper.
